2006 Syrah - Silver Medal Winner!

The 2006 Syrah was harvested on October 24th from our vineyards on Atlas Peak, 1,350 feet above the valley floor. The grapes were de-stemmed, then cold macerated for 72 hours, followed by a 24 day fermentation on the skins, and finally, a gentle press to preserve the quality and character of the wine. The wine was then aged in American Oak for 11 months. The bouquet is classic “white pepper” and bright “red cherry.” On the palate, the wine has a firm backbone with a long follow through on the palate. The Syrah from our hillside vineyards is so “big,” we blended 5% Merlot to soften the “broad shoulders.” We believe you will enjoy this classic Napa Valley Syrah.
